Getting Started

This chapter walks you through the full flow — from installation and sign-in to your first render.
D5 Lite is installed and updated through the D5 Launcher; there is no separate installer to download.
Open the D5 Launcher and go to the Lite page.
Choose your modeling software (SketchUp, Rhino, Revit) and install the matching version; the Launcher downloads and installs automatically.
If the modeling software is running during installation, close it when prompted and try again.
Requirements: Windows 10 (20H2 or later) and an NVIDIA RTX 20-series or newer GPU.

Signing in to the D5 Launcher signs you in to both D5 Render and D5 Lite — no separate login needed. Your account and entitlements are shared between them.
SketchUp: menu bar → Extensions → D5 Lite.
Rhino: type D5Lite in the command line, or click the D5 Lite button on the toolbar.
Revit: switch to the D5 Lite tab and click the D5 Lite button.
After Lite opens, the viewport syncs your model in real time. Then:
Set the sky and sun direction in the Environment panel.
Edit materials and place lights — the image updates instantly.
Click the render button in the lower-right corner, choose a save location, and wait for rendering to finish.
For higher quality and video or animation, sync your work to D5 Render for further refinement.
