# Autodesk Construction Cloud (Forma) Project Library Setup Guide

## 1 Overview

D5 Render Team Edition supports deploying project libraries on Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC). By leveraging ACC's cloud-based document management and collaboration services, team members can access the project library from anywhere via the internet, no longer limited by the corporate LAN.This guide covers the complete setup process for both **Team Administrators** and **Team Members**.

> **Important**: To ensure sync efficiency and stability, projects saved to the cloud drive will have their archive format upgraded. Archives in the upgraded format cannot be opened in D5 Render versions prior to 3.1.

### 2 Team Administrator Setup

The administrator is responsible for creating an ACC project, setting up the project library folder, configuring permissions, and connecting the library to D5 Render.

#### 2.1 Create a Project and add members in ACC web console

1. Sign in to the [ACC web portal](https://acc.autodesk.com/) with a **Hub Admin** account.
2. Click **"Create Project"** to create a new project. Select **"Data Center"** as the `Project Type`.
3. Enter the newly created project. Navigate to the **"Project Admin - Members"** tab on the top-left and click **"Add members"** to add team members.
4. For each member, **activate the "Data Management" module** — this is required for members to access files.
5. Navigate to the **"Data Management"** section on the top-left.
6. Under the auto-generated **"Project Files"** folder, **manually create a new subfolder** to serve as the D5 team project library (e.g., name it `D5 Render Docs`).
7. Click the three-dot menu next to the folder and select **"Permission Settings"**.
8. Click **"Add"** to add team members and set their permission to **"Edit"**.

> **Note**: Members must have "Edit" permission to collaborate in multi-user editing.

#### 2.2 Install and Configure Autodesk Desktop Connector

1. Download and install [Autodesk Desktop Connector](https://www.autodesk.com/products/desktop-connector/overview).
2. Sign in to Autodesk Desktop Connector.
3. Click **"Change Workspace"** in the app to set the local sync folder (skip this step if already configured).（**Recommendation**: Create a dedicated folder on a non-system drive (e.g., `D:\ACCShare`) as the workspace. Avoid using the default location on the system drive (C:\\) to prevent running out of disk space.）
4. Open Autodesk Desktop Connector from the **system tray**.
5. Click **"Select Projects"** in the bottom-left corner.
6. In the pop-up window, check the project you created in \[section 2.1]\(#21-create-a-project-in-acc) and click **"Save"**.
7. Open the local sync folder (the workspace you set in the previous step) in File Explorer.
8. Navigate through the auto-created directory hierarchy to find your project library folder. The full path will look like: `D:\ACCShare\ACCDocs\<Hub Admin Name>\<Project Name>\Project Files\D5 Render Docs`
9. **Right-click** the project library folder `eg: D5 Render Docs` and select **"Always keep on this device"**.（**Important**: This step is mandatory. If files are set to "Online-only" by the system, D5 Render will be unable to open the project.）

#### 2.3 Configure the Team Project Library in D5 Launcher

1. Sign in to D5 Launcher as a D5 team administrator and navigate to the "Settings" page.
2. In the **"Cloud Drive"** tab, paste the sync folder path into the corresponding input field `eg: D:\ACCShare\ACCDocs\<Hub Admin Name>\<Project Name>\Project Files\D5 Render Docs`.
3. Click **"Save"**.

The local path can differ from the administrator's.(**Recommendation**: Create a dedicated folder on a non-system drive (e.g., `D:\ACCShare`) as the workspace. Avoid using the default location on the system drive (C:\\) to prevent running out of disk space.)
4. Open Autodesk Desktop Connector from the **system tray**.
5. Click **"Select Projects"** in the bottom-left corner.
6. In the pop-up window, check the project the administrator created and click **"Save"**.

#### 3.2 Authentication in D5 Launcher (skip this step if already authorized)

Once the setup is complete, you can find the team projects folder from the ACC project library under the **"Team Projects - Cloud Drive"** tab in the D5 Launcher. When using ACC with D5 for the first time, you need to authorize D5 to access your ACC account.

1. D5 will display an authorization prompt. Click to proceed.
2. Your default browser will open an Autodesk sign-in page. Enter your **Autodesk account credentials** to sign in.
3. If a consent screen appears, click **"Allow"** to grant D5 access to your ACC data.
