# How to use the measureline asset?

#### **Function Introduction**

**D5 Asset Library** adds the **MeasureLine tool**, so you can measure real distances between models or across a model’s surface right in the scene. You can check dimensions inside D5 without switching back to your modeling software.

**Feature Access**

* Click **D5 Asset Library→ Model → MeasureLine** to activate the tool.
* Move your cursor into the viewport and the tool auto-snaps, sensing and locking onto the surfaces of models in the scene.

* **Distance:** Manually adjust the length of the line segment
* **Auto Snap:** When enabled, it calculates and displays the precise physical distance between capture points in real time, with values dynamically updated as the mouse moves or measurement points change. It can be disabled when freehand line measurement is required.
* **Label Position:** Controls the display position of the measurement value label on the line segment
* **Label Scale:** Controls the size of measurement value labels
* **Line Style:** Controls the color, line weight, start point, and endpoint size of the measurement line segment
