Sync

Applicable Scenes

Users with a small number of lights who are used to grouping lights in D5

Large number of lights, modelling software projects with large number of lights duplicated by light groups/instances.

Differences

Lights are synced to the D5 and exist individually in the D5 scene list, with no group structure.

When lights are synced to D5, lights of the same property will automatically be grouped.

Operations such as grouping and renaming lights in D5 will not be affected by subsequent updates.

Operations such as grouping and renaming lights in D5 will reset in subsequent updates and be consistent with the modelling software.

Deleting synced lights in D5, and subsequent updates will not re-sync the deleted lights to D5. reconnecting the linkage, the deleted lights will re-sync to D5.

Deleting synced lights in D5, subsequent updates will re-sync the deleted lights to D5 and retain the light parameters modified in D5.

Commonality: Modify the position, rotation, and size of the lights in D5, resync will reset these parameters to keep them consistent with the modelling software. Other parameters, such as light names, only remain the same as in the modelling software when sync is first initiated, resync does not reset these parameters.

Group Export

Supports exporting grouped models from .skp files as .d5a models.

Note: The efficiency of the exported file is affected by the file size, components and number of faces.

  • The export supports exporting all or only selected objects.

  • The default export is one layer of group structure, and the maximum of two layers is supported.
