The layer management function facilitates users to categorize and manage scene resources more quickly.
When we open the model, there will always be a default layer in the scene, click "+" to create a new layer. After selecting a layer, a "checkmark" will be shown in front of the layer, indicating that the current layer is active, and the newly added objects will be placed in the currently active layer. You can only activate one layer at a time.
The layer to which the object belongs can be seen in the right sidebar. To change the layer to which the object belongs, just switch it in the drop-down list.
The objects belonging to the current layer can be filtered by the "Active Layer" option in the filter of the resource list.
Layers support functions of locking and hiding. When a layer is locked, all objects in the layer will be in the locked state. When a layer is hidden, all objects in the layer will also be hidden, and new objects added to the layer will also be hidden immediately. In the right-click menu of the layer, click "Select All Objects" to select all the objects in the current layer at once; click "Rename" to change the name of the current layer; click "Delete Click "Rename" to change the name of the current layer; click "Delete" to delete the current layer and the objects in the layer.
When you click to delete a layer, it will delete the current layer and all objects within the layer. If you need to retain the objects within the layer, you can right-click on the layer to select all objects before deleting it and move the objects within the layer to other layers.
Why is it not possible to delete a layer/the Delete Layer command is greyed out?
If the layer to be deleted is the default layer or the currently active layer, it cannot be deleted;
When deleting layers, hover over the layer you want to delete and right-click to delete it.
How to switch the layer where the object is located?
When selecting an object in the scene or the scene list, it will show the layer where the object is located under the object name in the right sidebar, and you can switch the layer where the object is located in the drop-down list.
Why is the model not shown in the preview screen when hiding or showing it in the scene resource list?
The model is hidden in the Layer Settings, thus hiding or showing the model in the scene resources will not show in the preview screen at all times.
